Mt. Yamnuska - CMC Wall (300m, 5.11a)

Last week was the first sure signs of spring here in the mountains. I don't mean that the first robins were out or that someone in Banff spotted a bear, but rather that a large flock of climbers was seen making their way up the sunny cliffs of Mount Yamnuska!
For myself, I hooked up with Todd Learn and Julia Niles for an ascent of the classic CMC Wall. The climb offered up 8 pitches of excellent rock climbing with lots of sections that seemed quite challenging for the first rock climb of the season. The rock was dry throughout except for the last pitch where Julia had to go alpine style on an iced up corner and belay below a small cornice!
